BiographyKwun Nam Hui obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2009. He completed his postdoctoral research at the Institute of Advanced Materials, Devices, and Nanotechnology at Rutgers State University in New Jersey in the same year. He served as an Assistant Professor (2009-2013) and Associate Professor (2013-2015) at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Pusan National University. He then held positions as an Assistant Professor (2015-2017) and Associate Professor (2017-present) at the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering at the University of Macau. In 2024, he became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in the United Kingdom and has been consistently ranked in the top 2% of global scientists by Stanford University/Elsevier since 2021. He is a member of the International Expert Group of the Slovak Research and Development Agency and a member of the Peer Review College of the UK Research and Innovation Talent. His research primarily focuses on energy storage materials, with over 20 years of experience in areas such as electrocatalysis, nanomaterials, and new energy applications. He has published over 300 academic articles in professional journals in the field of materials chemistry (e.g., Advanced Science, Materials Horizons, Energy Storage Materials, Small), accumulating more than 14,000 citations and an h-index of 66. Additionally, he holds 4 US patents, 4 PCT patents, 10 Korean patents, and 28 Chinese patents. His contributions include 25 review papers and 4 book chapters. He has led 40 projects funded by the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund and the University of Macau Research Fund, with total funding exceeding MOP 22 million. He has extensive editorial experience in the fields of materials science, chemistry, physics, energy, and the environment. Since 2018, he has served as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Materials, Smart Materials and Devices, and Material Science & Engineering International Journal. He is also on the advisory board of Materials, Chemistry and Physics: Sustainability and Energy and serves as an Editorial Board Member for several other journals, including Scientific Reports, Sustainable Chemistry for Energy Materials, Journal of Energy Science and Technology, Journal of Energy and Sustainability, Catalysts, and Crystals. Additionally, he has acted as a Guest Editor for special issues such as Research and Applications of Supercapacitors and Advanced Research in 2D Materials for Crystals. He has also served as a Guest Editor for several other special issues and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences from 2015 to 2018. |
