Abstract

This paper presents the design, modelling, and finite-element analysis of a new flexure-based compliant rotary stage dedicated to precision micropositioning application. As compared with previous work, the designed new rotary stage offers a larger rotational angle and more compact size. Based on the established analytical models, the dominant parameters of the stage are determined to satisfy the performance requirement on rotational angle and driving torque. The proposed mechanical design and analytical model of the rotary stage have been validated by conducting finite-element analysis simulation investigation.
