Abstract | The purpose of this study aims at detailed analyzing the effectiveness of evaluating methods to the students in the general music classes and the reliability of the elementary school 6th graders' music learning achievements in Macau,China.The main focus of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of elementary school students' music learning achievements and the reliability of their music teachers' assessments methods.The researcher examined the contents of the elementary school music classes,teachers' assessing strategies and overall students' music learning outcomes.The overall aims are to discover the students' actual music competences and provide them with a fair evaluation and learning environment. The use of portfolio assessment does not only provide the music teachers a fair and clear place where they can face themselves,but the portfolio assessment also can discover the challenges which the music teachers were not aware in teaching.The participants are able to comprehend the challenges and learn from others.The relevant studies should be encouraged by all level music teachers. |
