Abstract

The soft magnetic FeCoN thin films and FeCoN/Ru/FeCoN sandwich-structured films were prepared by using DC magnetron sputtering system. The high frequency characteristics of the FeCoN films with FM/AFM/FM sandwich structures had been investigated. The effective magnetic anisotropy field (H) of FeCoN sandwich films can be changed by adjusting the film structures, such as the thickness of the FM and AFM layers, and the roughness of the interface. Therefore, the ferromagnetic resonance frequency (f) of the FeCoN sandwich films can be tuned over a very wide range. The single-layer FeCoN films show a highest roll-off frequency of about 2.7 GHz, but that of the FeCoN sandwich films can be tuned over a very wide range from 3 GHz to beyond 8 GHz. © 2011 IEEE.
