Abstract

The single phase AC-DC dual active bridge (DAB) converter is able to realize bidirectional power flow flexibly. Normally a large electrolytic capacitor needs to be placed at the DC side to stabilize the DC output voltage and current, which can compromise the power density of the converter. This paper presents an alternative power decoupling technique to stabilize the DC outputs, and meanwhile enhance the power density of the grid-interfaced AC-DC DAB converter. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed power decoupling technique.
