Abstract

Scutellariae Radix is one of the most important traditional Chinese medicine for clearing heat. Scutellariae Radix presents various pharmacological activities, such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidation, anti-tumor, neuroprotection, cardiovascular protection, antihyperglycemic and so on. Flavonoids are the main chemical materials with the above biological activities. The aim of this study is to review the progress on the chemical composition and pharmacological activities of Scutellariae Radix in order to further research and development of this traditional Chinese medicine.
