Abstract | Metal complexes based on iridium metal centers have attracted attention as probes due to their tunable biological and chemical characteristics. This review highlights recent examples of iridium-based compounds that have been developed as probes for various environmental analytes. We also discuss the further challenges to be overcome for this class of probes in the future. |
