Abstract	Ervahainine A (1), a new cyano-substituted oxindole alkaloid, was isolated from Ervatamia hainanensis. The structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods and further confirmed by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Ervahainine A exhibited potential inhibition against two human cancer cell lines.
