Abstract | This paper provides a system level verification for rectifiers with high efficiency at wide input power dynamic range on powering multiple wireless sensor or movable targets. First, several approaches for designing rectifiers with wide input power dynamic range are introduced. There are two types of approaches: improving matching performance of the rectifier, or reducing the power reflection due to impedance mismatch, over wide input power dynamic range. Mechanisms of these approaches are provided briefly. A comparison is carried out to illustrate the differences between each approach. For demonstration, the rectifier is integrated with a directional antenna to form a rectenna, and an MPT system is further build. The measurement shows that efficiencies of the rectifiers are maintained high when locations of the sensors changes, and the sensors are successfully powered and functioned. |
