Abstract

The term ‘mnemonics’ derives from the Greek Goddess Mnemosyne and generally denotes a system of devices that serve to assist and to improve
the memory.2 Memory in turn is supposed to assist the mind in the constant challenges it faces, caused by both changing situations and the constant influx of information that we perceive through our senses. Based
on the senses, the mind guides our actions, which in turn are influenced by
perception through our senses. Equally, our perception influences our
actions against the backdrop of a changing environment, based on our memory and the information stored therein. This is the process that we generally experience as our daily routine in which, it is advocated, the law provides us with guidance derived from the collective memory of society or mankind as a whole.
