Abstract | We developed a fast polymerase chain reaction (PCR) on digital microfluidic (DMF) platform which is faster than other reported PCR on DMF which took no less than 10 min. A dual-heater micro-thermal cycler using Joule heating on a sandwich-structured DMF chip was utilized for increasing the heat transfer efficiency. A sloppy temperature control scheme was adopted instead of precise temperature control to prevent the electrode breakdown and simplify the device setting. |
