Abstract

Guided by social exchange theory and social identity theory, we hypothesized that intrinsic career success variables (career achievement and career satisfaction) were shaped directly and/or indirectly by perceived organization support and affective commitment that, in turn, shape people's self-worth and life satisfaction, respectively. We collected data from 184 employees in a large state-owned enterprise in Beijing. LISREL analyses supported the direct and mediating relationships in general. Our findings lay the groundwork for both the POS and career success research in future.
