| Abstract | This year, 2016, marks the fiftieth anniversary of the official launch of the "Great Proletariat Cultural Revolution" (1966-1976, hereinafter CR) in the People's Republic of China (hereinafter PRC), and the fortieth anniversary of its official end announced by the Chinese Communist Party (hereinafter CCP). Modern China Studies has dedicated this special issue to remember this significant event of the PRC's history. |
