Abstract

In this research note, a log-linear model is used to examine the District Board election results in Hong Kong in 1994. The analysis idicates that being a Chinese advisor and the political party affiliations of the candidates were among the significant/actors affecting the election results. Also, all candidates who were in the Legislative Council and Regional Council were elected. These and other findings are presented and interpreted in the light of important developments affecting the political life of the territory.
