Chirality-dependent curvature effect in smallest single-walled carbon nanotubes

Abstract

The polarized micro-Raman spectra for ultrasmall single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) was reported. The RBM frequencies showed softening due to a strong curvature effect in small CNTs. The results showed that the softening depends on the tube chirality.
