Abstract

In the study, Model of flow induced by oscillating finite flat plate is setup using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software - COMSOL Multiphysics. Velocity profiles obtained in the study are compared with those given in analytical form which only exists for oscillating infinite plate. Findings of both horizontal and vertical component velocities suggest existence of vortices in region near the edges of oscillating finite flat plate and close to its surface. Flow is assumed to be laminar and arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian method is used for moving mesh in the simulation.
