AbstractIn shape space, a triangular mesh model can be taken as a point of the space. The shape space can be manipulated in terms of Riemannian metrics, so that geometric transform can be made in shape space to the models. In this paper, we make an improvement to the present method on geometric deformation by the introduction of an improved scheme on the operation to reduce the dimension of the shape space, and as a result, the computation efficiency on the operation could be substantially improved. Test examples are provided to show the effectiveness and the improved efficiency of the proposed scheme.
