This study examines the issues of the review process and proposes some reform strategies. In the attempts to reform the system or promote further research, stakeholders are essential in modifying the system, as the decisions of editors, reviewers, and authors can significantly impact the procedure and results. Using grounded theory, the researchers provide a five-theme and 11-subtheme framework for fair peer review. This study investigates several stages of the review and provides recommendations for editors, reviewers, and authors to improve fairness and transparency. The findings’ managerial implications are also highlighted.
