Abstract

The increasingly widespread use of social media platforms has a dramatic impact on how individuals interact and how they construct their identities. Social media typically brings numerous advantages and conveniences to our daily lives, but it also creates some evil things from the dark side. Cyberbullying is an expression of hate speech identified as an essential and changing concern in our modern society, with profound and disturbing implications for all of us.

This chapter focuses on Russian and Chinese laws. It is divided into three sections. The first section addresses the definition and characteristics of cyberbullying, and the second is dedicated to presenting a comparative legal analysis of existing anti-cyberbullying laws. Furthermore, several regulations that affect cyberbullying have been issued in recent years but are not directly related to it. Lastly, the chapter aims to provide some considerations on a new perspective on legal regulation and law enforcement to prevent cyberbullying crimes and protect victims.
