Abstract

A novel polarization rotation surface based on artificial magnetic conductor structure (AMC) is proposed, which can reflect incident wave in orthogonal polarization state and simultaneously offer a 90° phase difference. The feature is theoretically analyzed and validated. By using the proposed polarization rotation AMC, right-handed circular polarization is achieved for a linearly polarized dipole antenna. Simulation and measured results both demonstrate good performance of a broad axial ratio bandwidth and large axial ratio beamwidth in both xoz and yoz planes.
