Compact Planar N-Way Hybrid Power Divider With λ/4 N-Parallel Transmission Lines and (N-1) x (N-1) Isolation Network

Abstract

In this letter, a compact planar N -way hybrid power divider (HPD) is presented with lambda/4 N -parallel transmission lines (TLs). To realize good reflection and isolation performance among output ports in the planar structure, a (N-1) x (N-1) isolation network is newly shunted in the lambda/4 N -parallel TLs in the proposed HPD, where the proposed isolation network includes one column of resistors and N- 2 columns of capacitors. All the design parameters can be summarized and calculated by one even-mode and N- 1 odd-mode analysis. In the experiment, two fabricated circuits show good reflection and isolation performance at all output ports. Compared with former works, N can be selected arbitrarily, and fabricated circuits could be very compact.
