Abstract

IEEE Circuits and Systems Society have started focusing on assisting the career development of young members in academic industry. ISCAS 2010, which was held in Paris, France, covered several topics such as getting an academic job and getting the tenure, time management, and innovation of research topics. Professor Maciej Ogorzalek, IEEE Fellow, IEEE CASS Past President (2008), Jagiellonian University shared their views on several topics such as publications, editorials, memberships, and grants and Kraków, Poland, shared views on time management. Prof. Wouter Serdijn, Editor-in-Chief, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems-I, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, shared views on teaching and mentioned the ways to motivate and encourage students to excel in their subjects.
