| Abstract | The aim of this study is to comprehensively review the topics and themes studied in destination competitiveness research and to enrich tourism researchers’ literature review toolbox with the computational literature review technique. A novel computational literature review framework that can be applied to review tourism research domains characterised by an abundance of literature is developed. Enabled by the developed computational literature review framework with topic modelling, this study offers a comprehensive review of 1,130 destination competitiveness studies. The results identified several promising research topics, themes and theoretical perspectives that can be perused in future destination competitiveness studies. |
