Abstract | This paper proposes a method for off-line signature verification aimed at detecting skilled signature forgeries . Two types of peripheral features, ET1 and DT12, which are useful in describing both the internal and external structures of signatures, are employed to represent the signatures. Experimental evaluations of this method were done using a signature database of 1320 genuine signatures from 55 authors and 1320 skilled forgeries from 12 forgers. An average error rate of 15.6% was achieved. |
