Abstract	The development and innovation of Chinese medicine requires the most advanced biotechnology. As the core of modern biotechnology, genetic engineering technology provides a new method for studying the effect of Chinese medicine. This article explores comprehensively the possibility of applying genetic engineering to the field of pharmacological evaluation of Chinese medicine from the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of Chinese medicine, and material foundation of Chinese medicine. In addition, this paper discusses current research progress and existing problems.
