teh paper aims at explaining what is FDI, corresponding to the Portuguese IED, what are the advantages to the host country in relation to the specific situation of Africa and more specifically the role that the Chinese FDI plays in the rebuilding and strenthening of the economy of African countries, mainly the Portuguese African speaking countries. Also it aproaches some concerns that have been put forward that a new kind of imperialism would be taking place but dismisses the argument.
