Abstract | With the complex increasing in products and globalization in industry organization, training the usage of various manufacturing facilities becomes crucial for the success of companies. There is evidence that the use of virtual training may provide benefits in improving the effect of learning and reducing risk in the physical work environment. This paper proposed a web-based multilevel customized training platform that could demonstrate the operation of a CNC machine in terms of setting working condition and machining parameters selection. The developed virtual environment could provide training at junior level and advanced level. Junior level training is to explain machining knowledge including safety factors, guideline of selection of machining parameters. The virtual interaction between the command and machine has been developed in web environment. Advanced level training concentrates on programming control, which enables interactive programming of NG coding and followed machining simulation. Operation sequence is used to assist the user to choose the appropriate machining condition. Several case studies have been carried out with animation of milling and turning operations. The proposed training platform could benefit the industries with time saving in training, training effectiveness improvement, safety ensure, etc. |
