Regulation 655/2014 established a European Account Preservation Order (EAPO) allowing judges in member states to order the seizure of bank accounts located in other member states and, where appropriate, to seek information identifying the existence of bank accounts in other States.

Entering into force since 2017, this European procedure, although uniform, is not complete and requires a coordinated application of the provisions of the Regulation with the national rules applicable to equivalent institutions of the Member States (preservative seizure, garnishment).
