| Abstract | In Xuchang dialect, the partcile "JIAO" has many semantic features and syntactic functions. Disposal, passive, and unaccusative constructions can all be instantiated by sentence with "JIAO VP". Based on the Light Verb Theory, this article provides a unified account for the similarities and differences in semantics and syntax observed among the three types of sentences with "JIAO VP". |
