AbstractThe efficiency of the element decomposition method proposed recently by Er and Iu is analyzed in comparison with that of the conventional perturbation method. The numerical results for the computation of the first and second moments of plate obtained with the two methods proves the conclusion previously made by the first two authors about the efficiency of the element decomposition method.
