This study uses survey results published by the Macau magazine as the context to illustrate the phenomenon of adolescent idol worship in Macau. It is founded that Macau youth perceive idol worship both in positive and negative ways. The latter perspective has leaded to the result that youth would claim that they do not have an idol. On the other hand, star idol is the most important kind of idols among the youngsters. Idol worship has significant effect on the peer group lives but it is not the key factor for one to be accepted by his peers. As a result, idol worship is a more personal behavior for the adolescent in Macau and is a way for them to pursue self-actualization.
