This article presents the Historiographical Research on Translation of Poetry Between Portuguese and Chinese, a research project (Start-Up) conducted by the authors. The theoretical foundation of the research is highlighted, based on the eight questions by D'hulst (2001) for a historiographical writing. An illustrative table is presented as the first practical result of a bibliographic cataloging of Chinese poetry books translated into Portuguese, and vice versa, which would be made available on the Macau University website.
