Abstract | This paper illustrates the results of experimental and analytical investigation carried out on masonry panels built by grey clay brick (GCB) from the Lingnan Region, China, reinforced with externally bonded Steel Reinforced Grout (SRG) system. The experimental program involves diagonal compression tests on two unreinforced and two double side reinforced panels. The main outcomes of the experimental tests include load-displacement response, stiffness, load capacity and failure mechanism. The results show that the contribution of the strengthening system to the increase of the load carrying capacity and ductility. Finally, analytical model is proposed and compared with experimental results |
