Abstract | The article argues that The Treaty of Berlin, in 1878, which greatly divided the British public, greatly affected Bram Stoker in Dracula and his later novel The Lady of the Shroud. It argues that Stoker can be seen to have supported the treaty and had profoundly conservative views in relation to Near Eastern politics. |
