Abstract | The power of a good story is undeniable: it can arouse wonder, create lasting memories, clarify concepts, connect disparate ideas into a world of meaning, and even forge strong bonds between storyteller and listener. But how can the power of stories be harnessed as a pedagogical strategy? In this seminar Prof. Jeremy De Chavez, Assistant Professor of English and recipient of the 2020/2021 UM Teaching Excellence Award, will explore how stories could be utilised to enhance the classroom experience and also to facilitate meaningful and harmonious working relationships between instructors and students. |
