AbstractThis paper traces the development of academic works on the history of Chinese philosophy in China in the first half of the 20th century. By looking at the different approaches of Hu Shi, Feng Youlan, and Hou Wailu, various strands of a modern academic history of Chinese Philosophy in a Chinese context are illustrated.
