Abstract | The Shuihudi site was one of the major archaeological findings in the 1970s. Among the twelve tombs excavated at the site from 1975 to 1976, tomb no. 11 deserves the widest attention, for 1,155 Qin bamboo slips were successfully recovered from within. With a concentration on the legal matters, these bamboo manuscripts are closely related to the career of the tomb occupant, Xi, a scribe who had served in the Qin from 244 BCE until his death in 217 BCE. Later archaeological finding suggests that the Shuihudi cemetery had been under the jurisdiction of Aulu County of Nan Commandery during the Qin and early Han periods. |
