Abstract | Purpose: To investigate whether or not there is an HBV related protein in the bovine serum and to give clues to therapy and prevention in HBV. Methods: ELISA and DOT-EIA were used for checking the existence of HBsAg like protein in the sera bleed from cattle by random and limited ways. Western blot were applied for identification of the protein related HBsAg. Results: There are an HBsAg like protein in bovine sera bleed from cattle by random or limited ways. Nine out of twenty eight bovine sera (32.14%) were found HBsAg positive by DOT-EIA, which bleed from cattle by random way. And the similar results were confirmed by ELISA. Thirty seven sera from thirteen bovine families were used for analysis of family congregation and 72.97% (27/37) of the sera were positive for the HBsAg like protein. A specific protein band with molecular weigh 27 000 daltons was visible in SDS-PAGE and Western Blot analysis and HBsAg like protein showed family congregation. Conclusions: An HBsAg like protein with MW 27 000 daltons exists in bovine sera. |
